※QMAP: The 3iQ Managed Account Platform (QMAP) is a crypto asset management platform dedicated to institutional investors, provided by 3iQ. Unlike a traditional "fund-of-funds" structure that combines various investment strategies, QMAP is built as an independent platform, delivering high transparency and superior investment flexibility.

1|Bridging crypto and institutions

Pascal St-Jean

As we provide asset management for institutional investors, we’ve always wanted to be “translators”—innovators who can still speak the institutional language. For us, “translation” means taking innovative strategies and products, and elevating them to the level of risk management and governance institutions require.

Crypto-native managers and hedge funds can be extremely exciting—the venture world of asset management. But they can struggle to connect to the existing financial system. Traditional finance firms can speak the language, but sometimes miss the innovation.

One of 3iQ’s defining features is that we are built as a translator team to bridge those worlds. Within 3iQ, we have technology and crypto specialists who love pushing boundaries—first they go out and try crazy stuff. Then we bring in a CIO from large traditional finance, our compliance officer, myself and others—along with the team at Monex Group—to battle-test it and ask: can this be made institutional?

That’s how we work internally: innovation first, and then how do you make it institutional second.

2|“Adults in the Room”

It’s an impressive team. One of the world’s leading sovereign wealth fund’s major investments into QMAP reflects that team’s strength.

Pascal St-Jean

We couldn’t have done this as 3iQ alone. There are a few reasons why QMAP was adopted by a major institution.

First: we were adults in the room. There are many crypto hedge funds promising crazy returns, but when you go under the hood, they don’t understand risk management, and they don’t understand capacity. Institutions need to work with someone who can speak their language—and just that alone narrows the world from hundreds to less than five teams globally.

Second: the unique QMAP platform itself. Many competitors operate fund-of-funds structures. QMAP is a platform. They saw the flexibility, and they liked the transparency.

Third: our association with Monex Group. That was always part of the 3IQ journey to get into the institutional market. We knew we needed to be part of a larger family—publicly traded, long-term vision, and understanding traditional finance and crypto. Monex was really the right home. As the negotiation became closer to winning, we made sure Monex leadership was introduced, reinforcing the credibility of the broader group.

When all three come together—adults in the room, a transparent platform, and being part of a larger public-company family—there’s no one else that has that combination.
