About the ART IN THE OFFICE Program

Monex Group, Inc. started the "ART IN THE OFFICE" program in 2008 as part of its social and cultural activities with an aim to support emerging contemporary artists and enhance employee education. And currently Monex, Inc. is sponsoring  the program from 2010. The program seeks applications from artists of works to install on the wall of the press conference room within Monex's headquarters. The winner is also given a cash award and production fee. The program is run in cooperation with the nonprofit art organization, Arts Initiative Tokyo.

Mizuki Uematsu

Mizuki Uematsu Profile

Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1995 and currently resides in Tokyo. Completed the doctoral course in sculpture at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2023. Creates sculptures mainly using standard materials, such as steel and paper. In recent years, has been focusing on the synchronization of repetitive actions with her own breathing in the process of creating works and attempts to leave "traces and transformations" in her works as if to confirm her own existence. Major exhibitions include the solo exhibition "Floating on the Moon" (2024, aaploit, Kagurazaka) and the group exhibition "P.O.N.D. Dialogue / Encountering a New Dialogue" (2023, Shibuya Parco). Won the Grand Prix at Terrace Art Shonan Award 2023 and the Nomura Art Award and is scheduled to hold a solo exhibition at artstudio NAZUKARI WAREHOUSE (Chiba) in October 2024.
