At Monex Group, we believe sustainability is about more than fulfilling our responsibilities to society and the environment. It is about building an organization that can continue to realize its corporate philosophy amid a constantly changing world.
Our corporate philosophy is “To enable individuals to realize self-fulfillment and optimize each person’s lifetime balance sheet.” This philosophy is the foundation of everything we do. Even as the needs of society and our customers continue to evolve, our goal remains unchanged: to create new value for society by putting this philosophy into practice while achieving sustainable growth as a company. That is what sustainability means to us.
The driving force behind this vision is our people.
Advances in technology, including AI, are transforming businesses and the way we work. Yet it is people who will continue to envision the future, create new value, and make decisions through dialogue and collaboration with others. That is why we regard investment in human capital as a management priority, equal in importance to investment in technology.
Since our founding, Monex Group has fostered a corporate culture in which people with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives—regardless of nationality, gender, age, or position—respect one another and are empowered to reach their full potential. We believe diversity is not just about inclusion—it is about unlocking the value that emerges when diverse perspectives come together. We call this our Inclusive Talent Culture, and we regard it as one of our greatest strengths.
We are also committed to creating an environment that encourages every employee to take on new challenges. Through initiatives such as the IDEI AWARD, we celebrate innovative thinking and foster a culture that recognizes and rewards challenge and creativity. We promote talent based on ability and performance, creating opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds—including women, foreign-national employees, and younger talent—to take on leadership and management roles. We have also established a workplace that supports employees in balancing work and family responsibilities, fostering a culture in which both men and women can take parental leave with confidence.
We believe this corporate culture is the source of our long-term competitiveness and a key driver of sustainable corporate value. Guided by this belief, we have identified Human Development, Inclusive Talent Culture (DEI), Work Environment, and Human Rights as our material sustainability issues and continue to advance initiatives in each of these areas.
Since launching our sustainability initiatives in earnest in 2018, our disclosures and various initiatives have received positive recognition from external evaluation organizations. However, recognition is not our objective. Our true goal is to continue realizing our corporate philosophy and remain a company that is trusted by society and valued by our stakeholders.
Looking ahead, we will continue to combine the strengths of diverse talent with the power of technology to stay one step ahead in shaping the future and creating new value. In doing so, we remain committed to contributing both to the realization of each individual's aspirations and to the sustainable development of society.
