Monex, Inc. started the ART IN THE OFFICE program in 2008 as part of its social and cultural activities with an aim to support emerging contemporary artists. The program seeks applications from artists of works to install on the wall of the press conference room within Monex`s headquarters in Kojimachi, Tokyo. The winner is given a cash award and production fee. The program is run in cooperation with the nonprofit art organization, Arts Initiative Tokyo.

Rikako Kawauchi Profile
Born 1990, Tokyo (Japan). Graduated Bunka Gakuin`s Department of Fine Arts Advanced Course in 2009. Currently in her 4th year at Tama Art University`s Department of Painting Oil Painting Course. Winner of the first Contemporary Art Foundation Art Award 2014. Based on the idea that "food" is a fundamental element at the core of human beings, her drawings explore the relations of food with the artist herself, the human body and psyche, and interpersonal relations.
