Basic Approach to an Inclusive Talent Culture and DEI

Since its founding, Monex Group has respected diverse backgrounds and has drawn on different perspectives and experiences as a source of growth. As a result of delegating discretionary duties to employees from a young age and promoting talented personnel based on a meritocratic approach—regardless of gender or nationality—many women and non-Japanese professionals have come to hold key positions, and we now have managers in their twenties.

Building on the spirit of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) that we have cultivated over the years, we have introduced a new concept called Inclusive Talent Culture. Inclusive Talent Culture means transforming the differences in each individual’s personality and background into a strength, maximizing the creativity and potential of our organization and teams. Monex Group will continue to foster a corporate culture where diverse talents come together to shape the future collaboratively.

Understanding of Inclusive Talent Culture within Monex Group

The CEO and management team are committed to promoting understanding of Inclusive Talent Culture. Through external communications, such as interviews and events, as well as internal communication opportunities, top management consistently emphasizes the importance of being a diverse organization. We also continue to provide training by experts, striving to create a psychologically safe workplace environment.

As a Group-wide initiative, we hold the Global HR Exchange semiannually, comprising personnel overseeing human resources and DEI promotion from our major subsidiaries. To leverage the capabilities of each company’s human resources, the Exchange, chaired by the executive officer in charge of Human Resources at Monex Group, shares within the Group how each company addresses issues related to human rights, Inclusive Talent Culture, human resource development, and recruitment. Through the Exchange, knowledge is accumulated and used to enhance investment in each company’s people.

Fair Evaluation System

The personnel systems at Monex Group, Inc. and its Group companies conduct evaluations irrespective of gender, age, nationality, or other such factors. Based on the results, employees receive appropriate treatment and opportunities to take on new positions, helping to build an organizational structure that does not undermine diversity. The compensation system is also designed to prevent gender-based pay gaps. We use the ratio of female managers and the gender pay gap as metrics to assess the level of diversity ensured in terms of evaluation and compensation.
