What are your thoughts on "The Future of money"?
It will become an increasingly indispensable tool to improve the quality of life and to design one’s life. The form of money that was only "banknotes and coins" has diversified, spreading as a "means of exchanging value", and now the transfer and exchange of electronic value has become the norm in this era. With new technologies such as blockchain, IoT, AI, AR and VR, we are powered to live more easily, more enjoyable and more prosperous in the future. I think the " Future of Money" is a power to change the quality and width of life when "how to use" and "how to deal" is carefully thought rather than the “quantity”. "Future of Money" can be something common to all, something with the element that meets the needs of users, and can give us various choices in every aspect of our lives. It has the potential to function as a communication facilitator.
"The Future of Money" - What role will your company play?
In order to create the "future of finance one step ahead", Monex Securities has developed and delivered a number of unique services and innovative initiatives using the Monex’s viewpoint. From now on, we will go beyond the area of "securities" by developing services that allows customers to advance with the “Future of Money” and businesses that are directly linked with the "Future of Money " as well as to play a role in connecting people's lives and society with money. To that end, I believe fusion of different cultures and different industries, and aggressive use of new technologies will be the key. Adopting something new gives us an opportunity to re-evaluate about our position and strength, leading to an idea that was never imagined. The greatest significance of leveraging M&A and business alliances lies herewith. We will actively seek our in-house service and business development and the collaboration with other companies for a continued cycle of creation through destruction.

After taking part in Mitsubishi UFJ Bank Ltd. (formerly known as The Sanwa Bank, Limited), Yuko Seimei joined MKS Partners Limited (Private Equity Fund) in December 2006. In February 2009, she joined Monex Hambrecht, Inc. (merged with Monex, Inc. in 2017) and was appointed President and Representative Director of Monex Hambrecht, Inc. in 2011. She was appointed Executive Officer of Monex Group, Inc. in 2013 and Senior Executive Director in 2018. Since April 2019, she assumes the role of Representative Director and President for Monex Inc. and was appointed Representative Executive Officer of Monex Group, Inc. in 2020 after being appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2019. She also serves as Chief Financial Officer since January 2021.

What are your thoughts on "The Future of money"?
Money provides the element of “trust” and, as long as we live in large groups of humans, we need a trusted and convenient vehicle to value goods and services. What has been evolving creatively at an incredible pace are the main economic elements that define money.Starting with money as a means of storing value, it is going increasingly digital, cashless and at our fingertips. This has allowed financial services to penetrate the world’s poorest economies and microbusinesses.Digital money is now evolving in other exciting ways such as cryptocurrencies that are backed by computer power and not by governments. As a means of exchange, we see digital money evolving to become borderless and decentralized. Relentless innovation to eliminate the cost of the middle man and remove borders has given birth to innovations such as peer-to-peer lending, crowdfunding and blockchain. I expect that this fast pace of evolution is only the beginning. We live in very creative times!

John Bartleman started his career at Franklin Templeton Investments in 1994. After receiving an MBA from Nova Southeastern University, he joined TradeStation Group, Inc. (formerly known as Omega Research) as a Product Manager in 1999. In 2008, he was promoted to Vice President of Product Management. He assumed the role of Chief Growth Officer of TradeStation Group, Inc., in 2014, was appointed President of TradeStation Securities, Inc., in 2015, and in 2016 was appointed President and Director of TradeStation Group, Inc. John concurrently serves as Executive Officer for Monex Group, Inc.
