Monex Alternative Investments, Inc. (MAI) is an asset management firm founded with the objective of developing and managing world-class alternative investment products. We define alternative assets as non-traditional assets and manage hedge funds and private equity funds. In July 2005, the firm launched a fund of funds that conducts diversified investment in hedge funds in Japan and Asia, followed by another launch in December 2006 of a fund of funds that features diversified investment in global private equity and hedge funds. Through these activities, MAI has been solidly attaining client trust as an unique investment advisory firm offering mutual funds. In February 2011, we developed our business through the merger with unique Commodity Trading Advisor in Japan and enable us to provide Managed Futures products for our investors.

We would prioritize to preserve our investors' capital and make our best effort to provide timely and detail information for our investors. During the financial crisis that kicked in during late 2008, it was found that alternative investments such as hedge funds and fund of funds had lower price fluctuation risks compared to price declines of traditional asset classes, including equity and credit-driven products. Alternative investment products allow investors to pursue return on a long-term basis, without having to nervously react to market fluctuations, including changes in stock prices and interest rates. Alternative investment products are thus expected to attract wide interest as we move into the future. MAI will continue our endeavor to offer our customers opportunities to invest in attractive alternative investment products.
